When it comes to freedom from government oppression, the First Amendment gets all the credit. When it comes to those liberties we all readily enjoy - speech, religion, assembly, petition and press - there is such a strong and unified understanding in America that these are inalienable rights that they're hardly ever questioned.… 1 Comment

As I happily look back on May 15, 2008, I think to myself: "this is a day that I never thought I would see happen in my lifetime." That particular Thursday was a day that changed my life forever. That was the day the Supreme Court of California decided to grant myself and my partner of 12 years - as well as many other well-deserving same-sex couples - the right to equal marriage.… Post the First Comment
